New Pittsburgh Consol Arena

staff investigates the existing conditions
at the New Pittsburgh Multi-Purpose
Arena construction site. The proposed arena, located adjacent to the current home of the Penguins in the Mellon Arena, is near the US Steel Building and Chatham Center seen inthe background of the photo. REI’s role for the new arena includes preparation of site clearing and demolition plans and preparation of structural engineering plans. The new arena will have a seating capacity of
18,500 and is scheduled to be completed
in 2010.

FRED ROGERS MEMORIAL

Fred Rogers has always occupied a special place in the hearts of Pittsburghers. In addition, he now occupies a place on the city's North Shore, where a 7,000-pound bronze sculpture of "Mister Rogers" faces the Pittsburgh skyline. After the unveiling, a number of people hung around to take pictures and admire the sculpture. Joanne Rogers, Fred's wife, was interviewed by a videographer. Mr. Rogers is depicted sitting down and tying his sneakers, as he did at the beginning of each episode of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood."

REI WINS PRESTIGIOUS AWARD!
On April 16th, 2009. REI was awarded the Innovation in Design Award from the Green Building Association of Central Pennsylvania for the Hundredfold Farm Development . This "Green By Design" Project offers residential Housing in a way many have never seen before in PA. The development is surrounded by a Christmas Tree farm and is located in Orrtanna, PA.

LEED Professional Accreditation distinguishes building professionals with the knowledge and skills to successfully steward the LEED certification process. LEED Accredited Professionals (LEED APs) have demonstrated a thorough understanding of green building practices and principles and the LEED Rating System. Catherine Hoover, EIT, of Raudenbush Engineering, Inc. is now a LEED Accredited Professional. Catherine is a 2005 graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology and has spent the past three years working at Raudenbush. As she continues her professional growth, Catherine will take her P.E. exam in April of 2010. Congratulations Catherine on this accomplishment!
